School of Earth and Space Exploration at Arizona State University (SESE) — pronounced 'see-see' — is a bold initiative to combine science and engineering research and education in order to achieve a better understanding of the universe and, especially, our home world. At present, the School unites earth and planetary scientists with astronomers, and has strong collaborative ties with several other academic units at ASU, especially the Fulton School of Engineering.
This web site of Steve Reynolds, geology professor at Arizona State University, contains numerous color photographs, 3D perspectives, and information about the Geology of Arizona, Landscapes of the Southwest, structural geology, science-education reform, and using Bryce5 to illustrate geology (like the image above).
This page was designed to provide an overview of the geologic evolution of the state of Arizona. It is supplemented with photos, graphic reconstruction's and text which will bring to life nearly 2.0 billion years of Earth history recorded in the rocks and structures throughout Arizona. Use the time links below to explore different time intervals of Arizona history. Each link will present information about Arizona including the paleogeography of that time interval along with supporting photographs and illustrations.
